This house had no usable heating left, so rather than patch it I put a complete system in. New boiler, new pipework and new radiators, planned as one job so the whole thing balances properly rather than fighting itself.
Floorboards came up so the flow and return could be run in copper along the joists, clipped and supported properly rather than snaked about. Running it this way keeps the pipe out of sight, keeps noise down and means every radiator gets the flow it needs.
The boiler went on a clean set of pipework with isolation valves and a magnetic filter on the return to keep debris out of the heat exchanger. Once it was in I flushed the system, dosed it with inhibitor and commissioned the boiler with a gas rate and flue gas check.
Radiators were sized to each room rather than picked to match the old ones, then hung level with thermostatic valves. The last job on site was balancing every radiator so the house heats evenly from one end to the other.
Boards went back down, the install was notified to Gas Safe and the customer got a run through of the controls before I left.
