A smaller room where the tiling does the work. Pink gloss brick tiles laid in a herringbone pattern, marble effect porcelain on the floor and the return wall, and brushed brass brassware to tie the two together.
Herringbone is unforgiving. Every course has to be set out from a centre line and the cuts at the ceiling and the screen have to be even, or the whole wall looks off. The niche is set on a full tile so the pattern runs through it rather than dying into a cut.
The valve, the shower arm and the WC cistern are all concealed, so the framing and the pipework were set out first and tested before boarding and tanking. The tray is a low profile rectangular unit with a frameless screen, which keeps the floor clean and easy to get into.
