Bathroom replacement in Bedlington Station

Lesley had an old green corner bath and matching suite in her bathroom in Bedlington Station. Nothing was wrong with it structurally, it just needed updating. She wanted a clean, modern look that was easy to keep, so we went with wet wall panels and moved the bath to the back wall to make the room work better.

The old bathroom

The room had a green corner bath, a pedestal basin and a close coupled WC with matching tiles and a border. It was clean and functional, but very dated. Lesley wanted the whole thing brought up to date without the room being out of action for weeks.

What I did

I moved the bath to the back wall and fitted a straight single ended bath with an integrated mixer shower and a glass screen. The old pedestal basin was replaced with a fitted vanity and WC unit that gives some storage and hides the pipework.

The walls went in with grey and black marble effect wet wall panels, so there is no grout to keep clean. A chrome towel rail, dark floor tiles and an LED mirror finished the room off.

Why wet wall panels

Panels go up faster than tiles, there is no grout to discolour and the room is usable again sooner. On a straightforward bathroom like this one it cuts days off the job without cutting the finish.
